My name is Craig Powell and I have been a geek all my life. I am also a top executive at a multi-million dollar company. The face of today's professional world has completely changed. What used to be considered childish hobbies are the creative muses fueling today's business & entertainment markets. Love what you love.I grew up reading comics, collecting Star Wars, and playing video games. I have many passions that include reading, writing, music, and business development. As I entered the professional world, I strove to be the best I could be and advance in any way possible. However, I also realized that an overwhelming attitude exists to "be a grown-up" and "act professional". I have never believed that you had to give up on all of the things that make you who you are. Why can't you be just as comfortable managing a large sales portfolio while also collecting vintage toys? Why does it have to be exclusive to be a professional manager but also enjoy comic books? They are not separate things and everyone has hobbies or interests that their minds gravitate towards. How many cliched references have you heard about CEO's or Sales Executives going to play golf? Exactly. That is what they enjoy and they don't think twice about it because society accepts that as "OK". Well, The Perfected Geek wants the world to know that sports aren't the only things that are acceptable. Whatever your passions and interests are - be proud of them.
